Google Earth
Google Earth is an amazing application that uses satellites to take pictures of many areas around the world. The pictures that are taken allows the user to take a virtual tour through a city or even a landmark. Users can also look at monuments as well as natural wonders such as the Grand Canyon. Google Earth has a database of assembled images of the Earth. The high tech, advanced features give users the options to zoom in and out. The image resolution ranges from 6" pixel and up.
Google Earth also allows locations and buildings to be labeled. Hovering the mouse over a specific building will reveal the address of that building. Streets, cities, etc. are also labeled for the convenience of the Google Earth explorer. The user also has the option to add their own labels called "placemarks." There is also a Google Earth community that users can join in order to view virtual tours posted by other users. Google Earth is truly an internet revolution. Just see for yourself!
